We are looking for an Infant Development Consultant to join our Infant Development Program team! Ideally, this individual holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, child and youth care or another related discipline and has a Class 5 Driver's License with access to a reliable vehicle.

Description Of Position
The Infant Development Consultant provides integrated, family centered developmental services and supports to the children and families within the service delivery area. The Infant Development Program (IDP) provides services to families with children, birth to three years of age, who have an identified diagnosis, are delayed in one or more areas of development, or who are at risk of delay. Intervention is guided by a family centered philosophy and includes assessment, treatment planning and implementation of established goals, providing resource information, and referral to, and coordination with, additional services. The program supports families by providing home visits and outreach services.
Reporting to: IDP Program Supervisor

General Responsibilities
- Plans and provides developmentally appropriate services for children under three and their families in individual and/or group settings.
- Provides direct and indirect services, including assessments and report writing, for the designated caseload.
- Assists families in identifying and supporting the needs of the child and family.
- Engages a family centered approach to service provision.
- Supports families in accessing appropriate materials and resources as required.
- Ensures client files and other documentation are kept accurately and in a timely manner.
- Engages in ongoing learning in relation to practice standards, the community and the organization.

- Holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, child and youth care or another related discipline (mandatory).
- Holds a valid Class 5 Driver’s License with access to reliable vehicle (mandatory).
- A strong desire to continue to learn and advance developmental, assessment and service delivery skills.
- The ability to work within a collaborative team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Provides trauma informed, culturally safe services to all clients, regardless of race, ethnicity or socioeconomic status.
