THE JOB
The Accountant is responsible for supporting the full cycle account process in their jurisdiction. This role works with the finance team to ensure compliance and identify process improvements. We are looking to add an ambitious, well-rounded individual to carry out the following key responsibilities:
- Prepare sales invoices semi-monthly.
- Maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations monthly.
- Review corporate tax returns.
- Prepare international invoices.
- Participate in inventory process
- Maintain the Capital Asset Register, recording additions, disposals, refurbishments and new builds. Reconciling to CETS and fleet software.
- Reconcile capital lease account, recording new leases and creating amortization schedules.

THE SETTING
This position is based out of the Company Headquarters in Smithers, BC or the Branch Location in Saskatoon, SK. Office work environment with some travel required.
THE SCHEDULE
Standard working hours are 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday. There will also be some requirements to be available after hours and on weekends during busy times.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years in an accounting role
- Completion of CPA program or working towards certification is required.
- Experience with ASPE and IFRS is an asset.
- Experience in project accounting, financial reporting, and analysis is an asset.
- Ability to thrive in a challenging and fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities.
- Maintain high-quality standards and be a positive ambassador for Hy-Tech.
- Work independently and as part of a team, developing strong relationships.
- Perceive the bigger picture, tailoring your actions to achieve strategic objectives.
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and provide a current drivers abstract annually.
