Salary : $47,000 to $54,000 per year

The famous Mont Gabriel Hotel, a 4-star hotel located atop a mountain in Sainte-Adèle, in the Laurentians, offering 136 units across three sections. Following extensive renovations exceeding $25M, our hotel is now part of the Marriott family under the Tribute Portfolio banner and is managed by the Tidan Hospitality Group, headquartered in Montreal.

Hôtel Mont Gabriel boasts a wellness center, a restaurant, a bar, an 18-hole golf course, a stunning outdoor spa, and much more! On-site activities are plentiful, including indoor and outdoor pools, volleyball, tennis, golf, basketball, pétanque, and shuffleboard. In winter, guests can enjoy downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, and hiking—right on the property. The hotel also features nearly 12,000 square feet of meeting space, spread across 11 rooms that can accommodate up to 400 guests or 30 exhibition booths!

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Controller, your primary responsibility will be to manage the full accounts receivable cycle. In addition, you will contribute to the Accounting Department's team efforts by assisting with various accounting and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

  • Assist with the issuance of invoices for corporate stays, banquets, and other hotel services;
  • Ensure the accuracy of rates applied according to signed contracts, which requires collaboration with the Front Desk, Sales, Food & Beverage, and Accounting teams;
  • Process credit notes and billing adjustments as required;
  • Monitor payment terms and follow up with clients regarding outstanding balances;
  • Record payments received and investigate and resolve billing discrepancies when necessary;
  • Prepare accounts receivable reports and provide regular updates to the Controller;
  • Adhere to internal procedures and maintain the confidentiality of clients’ financial information.


General Accounting

  • Review and analyze daily revenue generated through the night audit process, including the preparation of deposits;
  • Validate transactions from hotel and restaurant systems and recommend process improvements where applicable;
  • Assist with the recording and processing of vendor invoices;
  • Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end journal entries;
  • Carry out any other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • College diploma in accounting (or equivalent experience)
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience in hospitality and food service is an asset
  • Proven IT skills
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365 (especially Excel), POS systems, and standard accounting software
  • Flexibility and versatility
  • Strong priority management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple files simultaneously, solve problems, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, autonomy, and sense of responsibility
  • Energetic with strong team spirit
  • Functional English
