- Understand all lines assigned to purchase; building the best relationship with the vendors, and ensuring all daily commitments to the supply chains are met including, but not limited to, inventory replenishment and branch requests
- Review items for replenishment from vendors and expediting vendor POs
- Understand and managing specific inventory and service-related KPI’s such as Inventory Investment and DOI
- Forecast future demand using analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel and Access
- Understand the various types of DC programs (sole, primary, alternate) and using the tools to maximize the branch compliance
- Work with Vendor Costing to ensure costing is up to date with costs C quotes
- Represent the company in a professional manner while ensuring quality customer service
- Understand impact of A/P to PO variances and works with Finance to resolve effectively
Start/End Of The Year
- Make sure bulletin board is up to date for Wolseley Heath & Safety standard
- Make sure Fire Escape Maps around the offices and warehouse are current and updated.
- Update OHS Meeting Minutes Form after monthly staff meeting
- Office Inspection - Fill out Form afterwards
- Workplace Inspection - Fill out Form afterwards
- Racking Inspection - Fill out Form afterwards
- Make sure Safety Talk is printed and signed by staff, first of every month
- Keeping track of training dates for staff to make sure everyone is up to date.
- Make sure Fire Drill is completed by staff.
- A minimum of two (2) years related experience in purchasing/buying
- CSCMP (Certified Supply Chain Management Professional) Certification is an asset
- Working knowledge of Syntax and WMS High Jump is an asset
- Distribution/Supply chain experience is an asset
- Proficiency using a variety of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook C Access
- Working knowledge of purchasing, warehouse and inventory control policies, processes and procedures
- An ability to display a customer service attitude toward the branches and to identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions to meet the customer/branch expectations
- The ability to adapt to change and self-awareness
- Fluency in both French and English would be an asset.
