Your Role

Radio-Canada is looking for an energetic, proactive administrative assistant with excellent interpersonal skills to support Audio and Radio senior management. In this dynamic department, you will provide frontline support to the administrative team and handle highly confidential information (regulations, HR, restructuring, budgets). You will report directly to the Executive Director, while working closely with the departmental Senior Co-ordinator. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is able to stay focused amidst distractions and enjoys the energy that comes with working with a team every day.

Work arrangements: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of three (3) days per week in the office (variable based on operational requirements) and two (2) days working remotely. Working in-office is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the one-of-a-kind energy of the Audio and Radio department, be right where the action is, and build strong connections working alongside the teams on a daily basis.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Day-to-day, your role will be built around four main pillars, requiring a high degree of agility to navigate competing priorities:

  • Information management and leadership support
  • Ensure effective information management, updating department-specific systems, records and files in co-ordination with specialists and operational teams.
  • Manage and prioritize daily requests from the team, demonstrating ability to pivot and adjust actions as urgent assignments come up.
  • Handle business travel logistics and prepare expense reports.
  • Work with the broader administrative team to ensure seamless top-down communication to department teams.
  • Provide proactive, multi-skilled support during times of increased workload in the department.
  • Logistics and team dynamics
  • Organize and prepare staff meetings and events so as to foster a dynamic, engaging work environment within the department.
  • Personnel movements management (onboarding and offboarding)
  • Plan and monitor onboarding processes for new hires as well as offboarding formalities for departing staff.
  • Workforce and leave tracking
  • Co-ordinate planning of the team’s annual leave and generate the corresponding reports for department leadership.

To excel in this position of trust, you must meet the following profile:

  • Training: Vocational diploma (DEP) in secretarial science, college diploma (DEC) in administration or office technology, or the equivalent (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered).
  • Experience and skills: Experience in administrative/office support, including proven proficiency with a variety of technology tools (calendaring, workflow tracking, Google Workspace or equivalent environments).
  • Language proficiency: Excellent command of spoken and written French (mandatory). Excellent command of spoken and written English is an asset.
  • Agility and focus: Ability to juggle multiple simultaneous assignments and maintain focus despite interruptions and competing priorities.
  • Team-first attitude and strong interpersonal skills: Outstanding communication and diplomatic abilities paired with a real passion for supporting a team in a collaborative daily environment.
  • Organizational mindset and diligence: Outstanding ability to manage priorities, meticulously track HR processes (leave, training) and handle logistics of meetings and events.
  • Discretion: Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive files (HR, financial, restructuring) with tact and professionalism.

Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.

We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

As part of our recruitment process, candidates who advance to the next

step will be asked to complete a background check. This includes:

  • A mandatory Criminal record check.
  • Other background checks may be conducted based on the operational requirements of the position.
