The Ottawa Valley Ontario Health Team (OVOHT) is one of 58 Ontario Health Teams across the province built with the goal of delivering more connected and integrated care for patients, families, and caregivers. Under OHTs, hospitals, physicians, homecare, community health, and social service providers work as one coordinated and integrated team – no matter where they provide care.
Under the direction of the Strategic Implementation Lead, the Administrative and Communications Specialist will provide administrative and communications support to advance the key functions of OVOHT. As a creative and innovative thinker, the Administrative and Communications Specialist understands the diverse styles and needs of Renfrew County communities and uses multi-modal approaches to support the work of OVOHT.
This is a Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm opportunity until March 31, 2027
Responsibilities
- Minute taking skills, Agenda and Report preparation
- Responsible for the logistical components of event planning (i.e., meetings, travel arrangements, catering, room bookings, etc.)
- Administrative and Communication support for special projects
- Ability to create and revise forms and documents
- Maintain and update Sharepoint Member site and Wordpress website
- Develop and disseminate social media content
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work with deadlines
- Support working groups and community engagement
- Draft community newsletters, press releases, and strategic communications
- Ability to adapt to a changing and fast-paced environment, good time management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently and in a team setting
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion
Qualifications
- University Degree or equivalent work experience with additional training in communications, public relations or journalism
- Five years of experience in administrative/communications setting; health care experience considered an asset.
- Experience and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including MS suite and Zoom/MS Teams
- Demonstrated skills in writing and engaging a variety of target audiences and approaches utilizing various media, including but not limited to newsletter, video, online, social media, print, radio, briefing notes, news releases, and web design.
- Develop and implement innovative community engagement and co-design strategies
- Professional experience with social media platforms and communications
- Must have demonstrated ability to meet all our Human Resources requirements
- Valid driver’s license with access to own vehicle. Travel may be required across the OVOHT region.
- Project Coordination considered an asset
- Bilingualism is an asset
