Full-time Instructor Position (Tenure) – Northwestern Polytechnic Fairview Campus


Our team at Northwestern Polytechnic is looking for a Mixed Practice DVM with a passion for education to be part of the School of Applied Sciences and Technology, with focus (but not limited) to the Animal Health Technology Program. The successful candidate would work in a student-centered environment with a dependable schedule.

Job Requirements

Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

  • Passion and enthusiasm for post-secondary education
  • Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments, offer creative ideas, and embrace change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Examine patients utilizing established protocols based on the latest AAHA and ABVMA/CVMA recommendations
  • Entering complete medical records into online practice management software
  • Providing guidance and oversight to support staff as it relates to patient care and case management
  • Perform and explain routine and complex surgical procedures including (but not limited) spays/neuters, dental procedures and mass removals.
  • Minimum of +3 years working in a mixed practice or equivalent
  • The ability to lift 15+ kg without assistance
  • Comfort developing and presenting information in classroom setting
  • Current license to practice veterinary medicine with the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association
