Working closely with Regional and Global Key Account Managers, the Application Engineer helps drive sales and business development, serving as the critical technical link between customers and Danfoss factories to enable continuous improvement and innovation.
This is a fully remote role for an employee located in Western Canada or Western United States.

Key Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
- Business Development Support
- Partner with Global & Regional Key Account Managers to execute sales strategies.
- Deliver product and training presentations, including new product launches.
- Assist with technical, quality, and sales activities to meet business objectives.
- Support product sampling and develop value-based selling propositions.
- Conduct frequent customer visits to strengthen relationships and visibility.
- Identify technical success factors in customer projects and drive related activities.
- Product Selection & Qualification
- Understand customer applications and guide product selection.
- Coordinate technical decisions with factories, Sales Engineers, and internal experts.
- Ensure customers have access to selection tools and technical literature.
- Support qualification testing with customers.
- Align activities with Account Managers to ensure consistency.
- Installation & Handling Support
- Conduct regular customer visits, especially during product start-up phases.
- Provide troubleshooting and installation guidance.
- Work with Regional Quality Coordinators to manage product returns and evaluations.
- Track and follow up on customer claims.
- Field Support
- Assist with system start-ups.
- Provide on-site troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Technical Coordination
- Participate in regional/global application and quality forums.
- Attend factory visits and technical meetings.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and quality teams.
- Expedite responses to customer claims and inspection reports.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC/Refrigeration, Hydronics, Chillers
- Willingness to travel regionally and internationally (~40%).
- Experience with account management and business process tools.
- Global work experience.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, independent, and proactive.
- Ability to lead and drive process improvements.
- Relationship-building skills in a global environment.
- Sound judgment under pressure and in critical situations.
- Competitive mindset to grow market share.
- Commitment to confidentiality for Danfoss and customer projects.
- Proficiency in MS Office; SAP/BW/CRM experience is a plus.
