About This Role

The Application Specialist is responsible for guidance, support, and architecture for enterprise software applications. This role requires extensive experience with large-scale software applications, and software development processes. The ideal candidate can effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical teams and non-technical business users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and expertise in enterprise applications, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining software applications within an organization.
  • Educate users on how to effectively utilize the applications and their features.
  • Create documentation to support user training and troubleshooting.
  • Work with our IT partners and end-users to ensure applications meet business needs.
  • Monitor application performance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Assist with system checks, updates, and quality assurance for enterprise applications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, partners and external vendors, including Microsoft, Aruba, Hewlett Packard etc.
  • Ensure software development best practices, including source code control and software design processes.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical teams and non-technical business users.
  • Define and optimize business application configurations for improved performance and functionality.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to educate users on new application features.
  • Stay updated on AI applications in enterprise software and evaluate relevant solutions.
  • Participate in various new software initiatives and ERP-related projects.
  • Research emerging technologies and best practices to enhance business solutions.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in enterprise software applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent technical diploma and experience considered.
  • Experience administrating and deploying Microsoft 365 Apps, including Power BI, Power Platform, and SharePoint.
  • Strong background in software development and database management, with understanding of software lifecycle best practices.
  • Strong communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Customer service-oriented with strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain discretion with sensitive information.
  • ITIL certification, exposure to AI technologies, and experience with ERP systems will be considered assets.

Physical/Sensory Effort/Work Environment

  • Providing service to several people, companies or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines, working for a group of companies.
  • Overtime may be required.
