THE ROLE


As an Assistant Mess (Hospitality) Manager, you provide an excellent customer experience in our military messes. During big events to every day moments, you will build a rapport with the military community while utilizing your operational and hospitality experience. Military messes are places where Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members come together to socialize and foster morale.

The Assistant Mess (Hospitality) Manager will ensure smooth operation of the messes’ activities and operations, including bar operations, while adhering to strict requirements for health, hygiene and safety. You will manage the scheduling, training and performance of employees.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED


Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in hospitality, food service management, or a related field AND some years of experience in hospitality or food and beverage service sector

Provincial Responsible Service of Alcohol certification, as required

Experience

In coordinating hospitality services

In applying policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation

In organizing banquets and functions

In inventory and bar management

In personnel administration

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

English Essential

OTHER INFORMATION


This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.


Offer expertise in management, operational and hospitality services as part of the team that oversees military messes throughout Canada and the world. The military mess is the centre of social life for serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces, where customs, responsibilities and social standards are practiced. Messes are steeped in rich military heritage and tradition. The mess includes food as a central component of events and camaraderie. Personnel Support Program (PSP) Hospitality Services and management are pinnacle to their success.
