Role description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Assistant Project Manager with buildings and industrial experience to lead and oversee complex projects from bid to completion. This role requires exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills to manage multidisciplinary design teams, budgets, schedules, and client relationships. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on quality and innovation.

Role accountabilities:

  • Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation
  • Team Leadership: Lead and collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals and milestones are me
  • Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering relationships and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle
  • Quality Control: Monitor project progress to ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues promptly
  • Budget Oversight: Track project budgets, control expenditures, and ensure cost-effective delivery
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project activities, decisions, and deliverables
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to stakeholders, including progress reports, forecasts, and performance metrics

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with buildings design experience
  • A valid Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license within the province of Ontario
  • At least 5 years experience in a project management role within the engineering and consulting industry
  • Strong knowledge of design and engineering principles, construction processes, and building codes
  • Proficiency in project management and ERP software (e.g., Oracle, MS Project, or similar platforms)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or similar is considered an asset

The salary range for this position is $78,000 - $117,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
