Working with the Town of Newmarket’s Recreation and Culture Team, means the opportunity to make a difference and connect with your community! Working in Recreation means being apart of something special, gaining valuable work experience and learning new skills. We are looking for dedicated individuals who enjoy working with others with a passion to deliver high quality programs, events and services. The Successful Candidate will:
1. Operates and maintains all theatre equipment including repairs and service to equipment; performs load-ins and load-outs as necessary; operates theatre equipment and/or oversees the operation of equipment for productions as required; set up and operate rental equipment if necessary; provides technical support to theatre users.
2. Responds to enquiries/questions/concerns/complaints from user groups, general public, and staff and/or refers to appropriate staff.
4. While on shift, be a leader for the technical aspects of a production.
3. May be required to attend special events at various locations.
4. Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with departmental and corporate objectives.

Please Note: Certifications are not required at time of application but must be obtained prior to job commencement. The Town of Newmarket may offer opportunities for certification
Disclaimer: Candidates whose Standard First Aid certification expires after June 22, 2026 must renew their certification through a WSIB-approved provider and obtain the new Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C certification at candidates own cost.
