Reporting to the VP, Audit, the Audit Manager leads the execution of risk-based audit engagements and contributes to the continuous improvement of governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks at Sagen.

Reporting to the VP, Audit, the Audit Manager leads the execution of risk-based audit engagements and contributes to the continuous improvement of governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks at Sagen.
Here is where you will be focusing to ensure your success.
- Lead end-to-end internal audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, reporting, and issue follow-up, in alignment with the annual audit plan.
- Supervise and mentor audit staff, ensuring quality and consistency of work and fostering professional development.
- Prepare clear, concise, and accurate audit reports, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and action plans for management to address weaknesses, non-compliance, and operational inefficiencies.
- Monitoring of audit engagement budgets, timelines, and stakeholder relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of audit services.
- Support the VP Internal Aduit in developing and refining the risk-based audit plan, considering emerging risks, regulatory requirements, and strategic objectives.
- Participate in the periodic review and enhancement of the Internal Aduit methodology, tools, and quality assurance processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with first and second-line functions to promote a culture of control awareness and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Monitor the status and resolution of audit findings and validate corrective actions.
- Ensure audits comply with IIA Standards and internal methodologies.
- Contribute to the development and use of data analytics and continuous auditing practices to enhance audit coverage and efficiency.
- Perform or assist in the performance of special reviews at the request of management.
- Professional designation required: CIA, CISA and/or CPA.
- Minimum six (6) of progressive audit experience, with at least two (2) years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Experience in the financial services industry, ideally within mortgage, lending, banking, or insurance sectors.
- Strong knowledge of internal controls, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements relevant to Candain financial institutions (e.g., OSFI guidelines)
- Proven ability to lead audit engagements and communicate with executive stakeholders.
- Developed IT audit expertise within the cybersecurity, data governance, and IT general control space preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and professional skepticism.
- Familiarity with audit management tools and data analytics (e.g, PowerBI, ACL, IDEA)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Maturity and business experience to manage sensitive information that could be personal in nature or Company confidential.
