The base salary range for this position is $118,300.00 to $207,100.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Your impact
The BIM Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive Building Information Modeling (BIM) program for a large design and construction organization. This role provides strategic leadership for BIM standards, digital delivery processes, training, quality assurance, model coordination, and technology advancement. The BIM Manager partners with project managers, design teams, clients, and technical stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality digital project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the overall BIM strategy and digital delivery processes.
- Create, implement, and maintain BIM standards, protocols, and BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
- Manage BIM content libraries, templates, point cloud data, and model archives.
- Develop scripts, automation tools, and workflows to improve efficiency and quality.
- Deliver BIM training and provide ongoing technical support to project teams.
- Lead BIM kickoff meetings and ongoing design coordination meetings.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary design coordination sessions and workshops with project stakeholders.
- Lead clash detection, model coordination, and issue resolution processes.
- Develop and implement digital handoff procedures between project phases and project teams.
- Audit BIM models for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements, client standards, and industry best practices.
- Support proposal development, fee estimates, and labor-hour forecasting for BIM modeling, coordination, visualization, and digital delivery services.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to BIM workflows, standards, and project delivery processes.
- Serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor for complex BIM and digital delivery challenges.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of BIM experience, including at least 5 years in a BIM leadership or management role.
- Proven experience leading BIM teams and managing digital delivery across large-scale transportation, infrastructure, or multidisciplinary design projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts quickly, clearly, and concisely for diverse audiences.
- Advanced proficiency with BIM software, including Revit, Civil 3D, Autodesk Forma, and Navisworks, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience managing Level of Development (LOD) requirements, including defining model progression criteria, monitoring compliance with BIM Execution Plans, validating model deliverables at project milestones, and ensuring alignment with project and client requirements.
- Experience leading clash detection and model coordination efforts across multidisciplinary project teams, including configuring clash tests, analyzing and prioritizing conflicts, facilitating resolution meetings, producing coordination reports, and tracking issues through closure.
- Strong understanding of BIM execution planning, model governance, and digital project delivery methodologies.
- Experience developing and implementing BIM standards, workflows, and quality control procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, improve processes, and promote BIM best practices across an organization.
- Ideally, you'll have
- Comprehensive understanding of BIM processes and workflows across the design, construction, and operations/maintenance lifecycle.
- Experience developing and managing Revit templates, content libraries, and family standards.
- Advanced knowledge of Revit families, parameters, schedules, worksharing, and model linking.
- Proven ability to perform model coordination across large, multidisciplinary projects involving multiple linked models and stakeholders.
- Experience implementing and managing quality control and quality assurance programs for BIM deliverables.
- Strong understanding of ISO 19650, digital information management principles, and virtual coordination workflows.
- Experience with Autodesk Forma and other cloud-based digital design platforms.
- Experience with BIM automation tools and programming languages such as Dynamo, Python, C#, and PowerShell.
- Familiarity with GIS, reality capture, point cloud management, and digital twin technologies.
- Professional certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional, CM-BIM, BIM Management Certification, or equivalent.
