We are currently looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, autonomous and team-oriented individual to lead our operations team in Grande Prairie, Alberta as a Bulk Plant Supervisor! As the Bulk Plant Supervisor at our Clairmont facility, you will be the senior operations person on site and will be responsible for leading all site operations and all operations employees. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will be responsible for receiving and shipping various commodities, primarily bulk methanol, for customers primarily in the Oil and Gas sector.

Some of the responsibilities of the Bulk Plant Supervisor include:

  • Lead the prioritization and setting of the operations assignments and schedules at the site
  • Monitor site efficiency and drive continuous improvements
  • Work with stakeholders to provide the highest level of service to our customers
  • Provide mentorship and training to operations employees
  • Provide regular feedback and development paths to operations employees
  • Assist in the execution of capital projects at site
  • Perform all the regular operations duties at site
  • Receiving, storage, shipping of all stock items as defined by our policies, procedures and processes
  • Physical and administrative duties for railcar unloading of bulk liquids, including dangerous goods
  • Physical and administrative duties for loading bulk liquid chemicals into bulk trucks
  • Physical and administrative duties for loading blended bulk liquid chemicals into bulk trucks
  • With support from National and regional colleagues, manage and lead safety programs at site (TDG, WHMIS, ISO, Responsible Distribution, etc.)
  • With support from provincial maintenance coordinator, assist with general up-keeping of building and warehouse equipment including lift-trucks, scales, etc.
  • Participate in related training as required
  • Assist in Heating Plant boiler operation and maintenance as required
  • Operate forklift truck with proper certification
  • Processing paperwork (i.e. warehouse release, bill of lading (BoL), certificates of analysis (CofA) and cover sheet)
  • Review daily shipment edit list to ensure orders are being handled to meet customer needs and expectations
  • Lead physical inventory counts, ensuring accurate inventory (quantity/lots/locations)
  • Regular communication with Logistics, Customer Service and Procurement functions to ensure we are meeting customer and operational requirements

What are the requirements and skills needed for this role?

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouses or manufacturing, specifically bulk chemicals is required
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, able to engage, influence team and external partners
  • Ability to develop and cultivate effective relationships with customers (internal and external), suppliers/vendors, and stakeholders
  • Experience in managing and promoting a safe work environment
  • Completed high-school diploma or completed equivalencies
  • Good general physical condition: ability to lift and work outside
  • Team spirit, motivation and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, great ability to communicate and solve different issues
  • You MUST be able to wear complete PPE (cartridge mask testing included)
  • Experience with WHMIS / TDG is required
  • Proficient on a forklift (holding a valid forklift license is needed)
  • 5th Class Power Engineering (would be an asset but not required)

Compensation Information: The annual base pay range for this position is reasonably expected to be $71,600 to $111,900. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is only a part of the total rewards package - this role will also be eligible for a generous incentive program and benefits. Quadra’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. Please note that the base pay shown qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
