Dawson Civil is looking for a Civil Foreman with a strong background in industrial painting and working at heights to lead site crews, coordinate daily operations, and ensure high-quality, on-schedule delivery of underground utility and excavation projects.
In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Civil, working in a full-time position of Civil Foreman, reporting to the Superintendent of Civil. The Civil Foreman oversees crews, coordinates equipment, and ensures the precise installation of underground utilities and groundworks to meet project specs and safety standards. Your base location will be Fort St. John, BC and will require some travel throughout our great province.

Civil Foreman

Dawson Civil is looking for a Civil Foreman with a strong background in industrial painting and working at heights to lead site crews, coordinate daily operations, and ensure high-quality, on-schedule delivery of underground utility and excavation projects.
In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Civil, working in a full-time position of Civil Foreman, reporting to the Superintendent of Civil. The Civil Foreman oversees crews, coordinates equipment, and ensures the precise installation of underground utilities and groundworks to meet project specs and safety standards. Your base location will be Fort St. John, BC and will require some travel throughout our great province.
What Success Looks Like
- Prioritize safety of self and others in every aspect of the job
- Provide management and direction to crews
- Experienced on all types of heavy equipment
- Attend and participate in all safety meetings and ensure team abides by safety policies on the work site
- Assist in coordinating and conducting training sessions
- Review and adhere to project schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met
- Work with and oversee the performance of all sub-contractors, ensuring that work is completed accurately
- Read and interpret project plans and specifications, and ensure all employees have the information required
- Recommend ways to improve production, quality and crew performance
- Ensure construction meets approved design specifications, drawings, and applicable codes
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the civil construction industry is required
- Clean Drivers Abstract is required
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently
- Experience with Heavy Job an asset
