Occupational Therapist (Independent Contractor) - Abbotsford, BC

Full time and Part time available.

This valued Occupational Therapist will have an opportunity to practice within a large scope through collaboration and teamwork, responsible for evaluating and supporting the clients in a holistic manner to achieve optimal quality of life. Day to day activities vary from serving clients in the community, in clinic, networking and collaborating within the larger health care community and with the funder, completing reports, and solving problems/overcoming barriers to achieving the Care Goals.

We are seeking a self-starter that is able and excited to work within urban and rural areas and has a proven ability to deliver excellence in outcomes and relationship building. This opportunity is well suited to candidates that can work independently at times, but also see the value in collaborating with many other professionals and teams to achieve the optimal outcome for the client.

Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day

  • Work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent client outcomes
  • Provide assessment and treatment to a wide variety of clients with varying needs, including those with complex needs
  • Provide impartial home, safety/attendant care assessments, ergonomic assessments, driving assessments, adaptive equipment assessments, client education, and clinic-based assessment/treatment
  • Coordinate the care with the client, family, CBI Care Team, funder and involved health care providers
  • Work closely with the team and other resources to develop new programs to meet identified client needs
  • Network with internal and external stakeholders to promote new and existing programs
  • Perform regular, timely charting, reporting and communication
  • Record workload measurement data
  • Attend staff meetings and case conference meetings, as required
  • Provide professional services to other CBI facilities or departments, as required

Here’s What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • You are a graduate of a recognized School of Occupational Therapy
  • You are a registered member in good standing with College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
  • You are passionate about your profession and committed to ongoing professional development
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle with a willingness to travel to rural site
  • New Graduates are welcome to apply
