Reporting to the Foreman, a Concrete Finisher is responsible for placement, smoothing and final finish of poured concrete. A Concrete Finisher will complete tasks such as, hand work, troweling, finishing, clearing forms, shoveling, using hand tools and basic equipment operation.


How You’ll Add Value


  • Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
  • Ensure proper placement, leveling and finish of concrete
  • Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement, to maintain structural integrity.
  • Compact concrete using a power vibrator and apply finishing techniques with hand and power tools to meet specifications
  • Install fixtures such as anchor bolts and steel plates in freshly poured concrete for support and durability
  • Apply curing compounds, waterproofing, and restoration techniques to extend the lifespan of concrete surfaces
  • Signal operators and execute traffic control plans to facilitate material movement and ensure site safety
  • Work in various outdoor conditions including inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt


Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience finishing concrete in heavy civil construction
  • Physically able to safely lift and carry 50 lbs regularly
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
  • Willing to travel and work out of town for short, fixed-term periods, as needed
