Under the direction of the Support Services Engineer, the Contracts and Technology Supervisor is responsible for the tendering and administration of divisional contracts and management of technologist staff in the delivery of tendered services as it relates to snow and ice removal, city beautification, and road maintenance.

Job Profile
Under the direction of the Support Services Engineer, the Contracts and Technology Supervisor is responsible for the tendering and administration of divisional contracts and management of technologist staff in the delivery of tendered services as it relates to snow and ice removal, city beautification, and road maintenance.
As The Contracts And Technology Supervisor, You Will
- Direct and manage the tendering, award, initiation, and execution of contract works such as snow clearing, spring cleanup, and joint sealing programs.
- Provide leadership and day-to-day supervision of technologist staff of the branch.
- Manage and coordinate various divisional programs such as the Spring Weight Restriction, Quality Assurance, Material Testing, and new initiatives.
- Supervise and provide direction to primary snow inspectors during snow clearing work in contracted areas of the city.
- Perform other duties consistent with the classification, as required.
- Completion of a Degree in Civil Engineering Technology from a Recognized Institution of Technology.
- Membership with CTTAM (Certified Technicians & Technologists Association of Manitoba) as a Civil, Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or Certified Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.).
- Minimum of five (5) years of roadway construction and design experience as it relates to surveying, measuring quantities, estimating project budgets, tendering of contracts, awarding contracts, and contract management.
- Understanding of the City's snow clearing operations.
- Experience with interpretation of contract documents and specifications.
- Experience using Work Management Systems, AutoCAD, and GIS software.
- Experience using the programs of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Understanding of the City of Winnipeg Asset Management Program.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, external contacts, and the public, in accordance with the Respectful Workplace Policy.
- Ability to manage and supervise reporting staff.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative with limited supervision.
- Strong organization and prioritization skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health policies, guidelines, and regulations.
