Job Description
The Contracts Manager will lead Fleetway’s contracting and subcontracting functions, playing a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with Canadian government contracting regulations and supporting operational readiness through strategic vendor and subcontractor management. This role oversees the full contract lifecycle—from drafting and negotiation to execution and close-out—ensuring alignment with company objectives and client expectations.
As the primary liaison with our parent company’s legal and finance departments, the Contracts Manager will provide expert guidance on contract terms, obligations, and risk mitigation. Key responsibilities include managing subcontracts, monitoring vendor performance, and approving Statements of Work (SOWs) and purchase orders. Additionally, this role will support surge capacity by identifying and managing temporary labour firms and subcontracting agencies.

Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Lead the full lifecycle of contracts and subcontracts, including drafting, negotiation, execution, and close-out.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian government contracting regulations and internal company policies.
- Review and approve Statements of Work (SOWs), purchase orders, and contract amendments.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with temporary labour firms and subcontracting agencies.
- Develop and maintain a roster of pre-qualified subcontractors to support surge hiring and project demands.
- Manage vendor relationships, including onboarding, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Oversee the invoicing process to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contract terms.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with clients during contract initiation and negotiation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure contract deliverables meet client expectations.
- Liaise with the parent company’s legal and finance departments to ensure alignment and compliance.
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams on contract terms, obligations, and best practices.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- 8–10+ years of progressive experience in contract management, with a strong emphasis on Canadian government contracting.
- Demonstrated experience managing subcontracts and vendor relationships, preferably in a technical or engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, legal terminology, and risk management principles.
