Our team in Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Contracts Specialist to join our Project Delivery Business line in the Vancouver office.
The Contracts Specialist is focused specifically on the contracting activities which includes the management of the entire bid process, bid analysis, contract formation, and administration of the contract. It encompasses the process of systematically and efficiently managing contract formation and the administration to effectively manage all construction and services contracts required during the lifecycle of the project. This position will be reporting to the Manager of Procurement and Contracts.

Salary range: $75,0000-$125,000

Our team in Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Contracts Specialist to join our Project Delivery Business line in the Vancouver office.
The Contracts Specialist is focused specifically on the contracting activities which includes the management of the entire bid process, bid analysis, contract formation, and administration of the contract. It encompasses the process of systematically and efficiently managing contract formation and the administration to effectively manage all construction and services contracts required during the lifecycle of the project. This position will be reporting to the Manager of Procurement and Contracts.
About The Role
- Input into the contracting strategy as part of the Contracts Strategy and Management Plan
- Manage the bid process including:
- Manage the pre-qualification and selection of bidders
- Prepare and issue invitation to bid documents by preparing the commercial content and obtaining the technical content
- Supervise and maintain the integrity of the bid process. Log clarification questions and replies and issue addenda as required
- Conduct the bid opening and manage bid clarification meetings
- Coordinate technical evaluations and conduct commercial evaluations, coordinate negotiations and manage recommendation for award
- Review contract terms and conditions and consider and recommend special terms and conditions as required
- Prepare and issue contract for execution
- Issue letters of regret
- Administration of contracts post award including change management, payment certificates, reporting, contractor progress meetings, and close-outs.
- 3-15 years’ experience in an EPCM project environment on capital projects, specifically in the drafting and negotiation of construction and services contracts
- Contracts/Legal related training
- Experience with drafting of commercial terms and conditions and an understanding of accompanying legal implications
- Negotiation skills
- Excellent understanding of procurement processes and corporate governance principles
- Ability to fit into a team environment and personal skills to compliment teamwork development
- Extended travel to developing countries may be required
- Experience working on large construction sites highly regarded
- Relevant tertiary qualification will be highly regarded
