CORE Project Coordinator

Summary Of Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the CORE (Construction Readiness) Construction Manager, the incumbent will be involved in overseeing and managing major mining and construction projects from inception to completion. The Project Coordinator will be more specifically called upon to:

• Actively participate in the technical and economic feasibility studies of mining projects.
• Coordinate with estimators, engineers and planners the identification and estimation of indirect costs (temporary facilities, logistics, support staff, HSE, IT infrastructure, etc.).
• Provide technical input into the preparation of construction scenarios for the different options considered.
• Support the integration of construction requirements into the economic model of the project.
• Develop and maintain the construction readiness and project execution plan in collaboration with the project teams.
• Participate in the development of the project schedule in collaboration with discipline leaders.
• Review contractor bids and ensure they are compliant and without apparent omission.
• Ensure that all project activities comply with health, safety and environmental regulations as well as company policies.
• Perform engineering technical reviews and ensure constructability.
• Develop construction-specific KPIs.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mining, civil, mechanical, electrical or equivalent) or certified technician (related technical discipline).
• Project Management Certification (PMP) is an asset.
• Have between three (3) and five (5) years of relevant experience in the mining, construction or heavy industrial sectors.
• Be able to communicate in English and/or French.
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale construction or mining projects.
• Ability to use project management tools and software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD).
• Extensive field experience, especially on construction sites.

• The position will be based at the G Mining Services office in Brossard.
• Possibility of working in hybrid mode (office and remote work).
• Possibility to occasionally travel internationally and within Canada.
