Some Of What You Will Do
Corporate
- Responsible for preparation of the financial packet for Board and Committees.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual management corporate reporting to stakeholders.
- Support the detailed development of the annual operating plan, financial forecasts, and strategic plans, while playing a key role in annual budget and strategic planning processes.
- Track KPIs and prepare financial reports.
- Understand key business drivers.
- Assist with presentation materials for board, investor, lender, and internal ad-hoc meetings.
- Provide expertise on business processes and solutions.
- Support global month-end close calls with Financial Control and Product Control teams to discuss variance analysis, material items, and key issues.
- Manage standardized financial reports, scenarios, and develop reports to automate and streamline analysis and reconciliation processes.
- Work as part of a growing global team to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines and compliance requirements.
- Manage finance compliance policies, including delegation of authority.
- Assist with the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate month-end P&L results are reported by global teams.
- Support operations and drilling teams on AFE build and regular reporting on actuals, forecasts, and planning.
- Support implementation of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).
- Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the executive team and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
- Manage ERP control design, implementation, and operational effectiveness, including documentation or managing consultants as needed.
- Lead process improvement projects, including implementation of an automated AP system in collaboration with the Director, IT.
- Support new ERP implementations, including defining and developing test scenarios and scripts for testing events (e.g., releases, patches, enhancements, upgrades, and reimplementation).
- Maintain ERP functional configuration and collaborate with operations to deliver a product that supports finance needs.
- Oversee ERP implementations and maintenance of key modules:
- Budgeting and forecast module
- Inventory module
- Fixed assets module
- Intercompany module
- Billing, revenue, and receivable module
- Foreign exchange module and reporting
- Other future systems (e.g., procure-to-pay, continuous system improvement)
- Assist with training staff in ERP system applications.
- Design and document business requirements, processes, and workflows.
- Regularly review and update financial policies to ensure compliance and best practices, supporting efficient global operations.
- Develop user procedures and maintain related documentation.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather business requirements.
- Lead or participate in special projects within the department, the broader finance environment, or cross-functionally.
- Provide cross-training and coverage for other finance leaders as needed.
- 15+ years’ experience with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CA, CPA, or equivalent certification required.
- Oil & Gas industry experience, with specific knowledge of drilling services.
- ERP implementation and system administration experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, consolidation, and reporting.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivots, modeling) and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; experience with BI tools is a plus.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with high accuracy.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Ability to problem-solve, anticipate issues, and make sound decisions.
- Proven flexibility to adapt and work in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
- Experience in data analysis and organizing information for executive use.
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
