RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

The incumbents will be members of the Biostatistics Consulting Unit (BCU) at the RI-MUHC, providing statistical support in one/two projects while ensuring these clinical research projects comply with good clinical practice (GCP) and regulatory guidelines. We offer a dynamic opportunity to engage in impactful research and develop expertise in biostatistics, with opportunities for co-authorship. Incumbents will receive career guidance through one-on-one mentoring. Regular feedback and evaluations will ensure progress, skill development, and readiness for future career opportunities.

General Duties

  • Conducts statistical analyses using statistical software such as R/Phython,
  • Maintains quality standards and meets project deadlines,
  • Collaborates with BCU staff and research teams,
  • Contributes to enhancing the BCU’s visibility and fostering collaborations within the research community,
  • Participates in workshops and team meetings

Education / Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study: Biostatistics, epidemiology, or any quantitative discipline.

Work Experience: Years of experience required for the position: 1-2 years

Required Skills

  • Bilingualism French and English,
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision.

Additional information

Status : Full-Time, Temporary (35-hour workweek) (8-week position)

Pay Scale: $21.00 per hour to $26.36 per hour. Commensurate with education & work experience.

Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Work Site: MGH, 1650 Cedar Ave.

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period,
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment,
  • have a valid SIN at the start of the employment.
