This is a full-time, on-site role for a Department Manager - Children, Family & Senior Services located in Dawson Creek, BC. The Department Manager will oversee daily operations, ensuring quality service delivery in line with organizational values and goals. Responsibilities include managing budgets, supervising staff, establishing partnerships with community stakeholders, and developing programs to meet the needs of children, families, and seniors. The Manager will also assess program effectiveness and implement improvements as required. Leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration will be central to daily responsibilities.
- Leadership and Team Management: Previous experience managing teams, mentoring staff, and creating a supportive work environment
- Program Development and Coordination: Skills in designing, implementing, and evaluating community-focused programs
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to effectively engage with staff, stakeholders, and community members
- Organizational and Budget Management: Capacity for overseeing budgeting, program resources, and operational efficiency
- Crisis Management and Problem-Solving: Proficiency in addressing urgent needs or challenges effectively and equitably
- Relevant Knowledge and Experience: Familiarity with services for children, families, and seniors, and experience in community resource management
- Education: Degree or diploma in Social Work, Community Services, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Other Skills: Strong knowledge of local community needs and resources, and a commitment to adaptability and continuous learning
