Reporting to the Project Manager the Project Designer will be responsible for all facets of design for our existing and perspective Utility clients.

Reporting to the Project Manager the Project Designer will be responsible for all facets of design for our existing and perspective Utility clients.
What You'll Do Here
- Complete design drawings and calculations that satisfy all the applicable code and regulation requirements (ESA, CEC, CSA, Etc.).
- Assist in the preparation of design schedules, material / labor estimates, permit applications and construction packages.
- Conduct pre-design inspections, worksite visits and construction support.
- Assist with the preparation of reports regarding the status and results of completed and in-progress design projects.
- Prepare technical reports as required by the client and project team.
- Utilize various utility design software and tools.
- Liaises with clients, contractors, field staff and other stakeholders.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- 3 – 5 years’ experience designing and drafting OH & UG electrical distribution systems.
- Registration as an E.I.T. with the P.E.O is considered an asset.
- CET certified or CET eligible is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proven people and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
- Strong computer skills required – experience with AutoCAD software, Bentley MicroStation / ProjectWise, SAP, SpidaCalc, AGi32 streetlighting software and 3-D software experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel for projects (Valid G driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required).
- Proven ability to take initiative and leadership.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Hybrid split week work from home / office model.
