In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components.
- Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines.
- Assist more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop.
- Complete required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Adhere to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
- A copy of your red seal certification or trade’s diploma is required for this position.
- A copy of a 5 years driver’s abstract is required for this position.
- A valid local driver’s license is required for this position.
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
Certifications, Diplomas
- 310T journeyman certification is mandatory for this position.
- Locally valid driving permit is required for this position.
- Clean driver’s abstract is required for this position.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
- Experience with engine and chassis preferred.
- Electrical knowledge and experience considered an asset.
- Ability to perform occasional service calls.
- Working hours are 7am-330pm Monday-Friday (30 min lunch).
- You will work on: ON Highway tractors-buses (transit and school) RV’s and other heavy equipment.
- Starting salary is 39$ hourly.
