Job Summary

The Director, Business Alignment and Effectiveness partners closely with the President of McKesson Canada Specialty Health to ensure management team coordination and seamless execution of business strategies and key initiatives. This role helps to align internal teams to driving cohesive objectives, monitor progress, and supports robust decision-making. In this role you will work cross functionally with our Specialty Health leadership team and our Shared Services partners (Finance, CSBD, HR, Marketing, Communications, and others), you will champion the alignment of goals across the organization and lead key initiatives.

This role requires a dynamic leader who can think strategically while executing tactically, ensuring that all facets of the business align with the overarching vision of the organization.

Specific Responsibilities

Project & Strategic Execution

  • Help drive alignment and execution of key strategic projects, ensuring that they meet organizational objectives and deliver desired outcomes.
  • Monitor initiatives under development and in progress to ensure strategies align with both short-term and long-term goals.


Executive Reporting & Business Performance Metrics

  • Craft and deliver comprehensive executive reports/dashboards that provide insights into business performance and strategic progress.
  • Collaborate with business units to develop priorities and performance metrics, establishing tracking mechanisms that ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and/or coordinate monthly strategic dashboards and scorecard performance.


Leadership Team Alignment

  • Foster collaboration and effective decision-making within the leadership team, promoting a unified approach to achieving business objectives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure strategic messaging is consistent, aligned, and effectively cascaded throughout organization where required.


Financial Coordination

  • Oversee and ensure adherence to budget initiatives ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Lead cross functional efforts for budget and long-range planning and forecasting.


Strategy Communication & Engagement

  • Lead initiatives that enhance employee engagement and ensuring that strategic goals are communicated effectively throughout the organization, including but not limited to employee townhalls, newsletters and other communication/marketing efforts as they occur.
  • Develop and deliver compelling executive-level presentations that align with business strategy and ensure narratives are tailored to different audiences (translating complex information into actionable insights).


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum post-secondary education; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in, or strong exposure to, the healthcare industry.


Key Competencies

  • Experience in business management, business degree, MBA and/or training in project management an asset.
  • Proven experience in strategic leadership and organizational skills with demonstrated commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments.
  • Adequate understanding of the biopharma sector, including offerings for manufacturers, patients, and physicians.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to interact confidently with diverse stakeholders at various levels.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Attention to detail and the ability to generate insights from data to support key initiatives.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate, build relationships, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$104,600 - $174,300
