What you do:

The Director of Real Estate & Analytics reports directly to the Senior Vice President of National Development and is responsible for Real Estate and Analytics within the Development Team. Developing and implementing a comprehensive National real estate strategy to meet new restaurant opening (NRO) objectives and encompassing market site evaluations, business case developments, economic modeling, lease negotiations, and demographic analyses.

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Participate in short and long range planning and development of business cases for the channel growth as it relates to the real estate of restaurants.
  • Provide support to business strategies, integrating innovative solutions to the development of restaurant sites effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure that restaurant development supports the long-term growth strategies of Boston Pizza International
  • Actively influence the Development Team’s decision-making to ensure collaboration with Franchising, Design and Construction and critical stakeholders and key prospects.
  • Stay in touch with industry trends, innovations, methods, and processes related to real estate and development practices and various formats including traditional and nontraditional growth.
  • Provide direction and support to the Development Team to produce effective and innovative solutions that optimize / maximize capacities and development opportunities while balancing business changing needs (patio expansion, menu capacity, TOD, Operations) and the impact to the overall footprint and format opportunities.
  • Ensure that the economic modelling ROI, costing, timing (design, construction procedures and standards incorporate acceptable project management, construction, estimating, and value engineering principles) are in line with estimates and properly incorporated within the LOI and the transaction.
  • Interface regularly with Business Research, Developers, Landlords, and Market / Brand Opportunities (Hotels)
  • Manage a significant National Real Estate portfolio, including re-acquisitions, redevelopment projects, terminations,
  • Protect the brand and assets of the portfolio, developing a strategic approach to all renewals and owned real estate.
  • Manage Existing Portfolio, supporting the system for property management issues.
  • Create, manage, and execute the Real Estate Plan to meet portfolio returns and overall Corporate strategies and mandate.
  • Manage and adjust to maintain a balanced workload among staff members while still meeting Real Estate objectives and goals.
  • Driven by data in order to provide direction and leverage and manage our Real Estate intelligence software
  • Integrate the goals and priorities of the Real Estate are aligned with Franchising, Construction, and Design Teams to ensure the optimization of the site development processes, construction speed, capacity, and costs.
  • Ensure best location/best value for all Real Estate acquisitions and low-cost/best-value for all building, site, and in line with the economic model.
  • Align Real Estate goals with Corporate strategies.

Who you are:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business management, or related discipline.
  • You have a minimum of 5 – 7 years’ experience in real estate, commercial business development, and strong understanding of financial modelling, and proficient in proformas and analytics.
  • You have experience in developing both short-term and long-range real estate strategies.
  • You are proficient in financial and demographic site analysis.
  • You have excellent service – driven mindset and strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively at all levels and cross functionally.
  • You are able to lead effectively in a complex, multi-functional business environment supporting a variety of initiatives.
  • You are knowledgeable in current and changing restaurant trends and ability to revise and communicate strategies to optimize growth opportunities.
  • You are collaborative and work well across the various functional departments and franchise network to alignment and is influential in advancing corporate objectives and mandate
