The Director of Supply Chain is a senior strategic leader responsible for designing, optimizing, and maturing BinSentry’s global supply chain ecosystem. This individual will develop long-term supply chain strategy, build supplier resilience, and enable scalable manufacturing and distribution to support rapid deployment of our hardware.
This role is responsible for transforming the supply chain into a strategic advantage for the company — ensuring cost competitiveness, delivery reliability, operational efficiency, and global readiness. The Director will lead the Manager of Supply Chain while collaborating closely with engineering, finance, operations, quality, fulfillment, and executive leadership to drive enterprise-wide outcomes.
The ideal candidate combines strategic foresight, global supply chain expertise, and hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, scaling hardware environment.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Develop and own the long-term global supply chain strategy aligned with company growth, new product introduction (NPI) process, and global expansion.
- Partner with the COO and the ELT to define supply chain KPIs, scalability targets, and cost structures that position BinSentry as an operational leader in AgTech.
- Build supply chain resilience through multi-sourcing strategies, geographic diversification, and risk-mitigation frameworks.
- Lead strategic planning for capacity, inventory, and supplier readiness to support rapid production scaling.
- Guide supply chain technology roadmap (ERP/MRP upgrades, forecasting systems, analytics tools) and implementation utilizing Odoo
- Serve as the executive voice for supply chain in quarterly planning, board discussions, and strategic projects.
- Establish supply chain policies, governance standards, and best practices across procurement, logistics, inventory, and supplier quality.
- Build scalable workflows enabling predictable manufacturing, global distribution, and real-time inventory visibility.
- Drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies — targeting efficiency gains, cost reductions, and quality improvements.
- Oversee the supply chain audit program ensuring compliance, performance tracking, and accountability across all nodes.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for systemic issues impacting production or delivery, working with Production, Engineering, Finance, and other key stakeholders.
- Own global sourcing strategy, including supplier selection, qualification, and performance management.
- Negotiate high-impact contracts, cost-down initiatives, long-term agreements (LTAs), and partnership models with key suppliers and contract manufacturers.
- Develop supplier scorecards, QBR structure, and long-term partnership strategies to ensure quality, cost, and delivery excellence.
- Identify opportunities for vertical integration, strategic alliances, or innovation partnerships to strengthen hardware competitiveness.
- Oversee management of the Approved Supplier List (ASL), ensuring compliance and effective lifecycle management.
- Ensure the end-to-end supply chain runs efficiently, transparently, and predictably — from purchase order to final fulfillment, including product flow through production and delivery.
- Oversee inventory strategy, min/max rules, safety stock models, and demand planning.
- Support contract manufacturer performance with structured communication, readiness planning, and issue escalation paths.
- Lead major operational initiatives such as ERP optimization, logistics redesign, or warehouse footprint planning.
- Own the order to pay process with key approvals ensuring robust controls.
- Integrate forecasting data, customer demand trends, and operational analytics to improve planning accuracy and cost efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Manager of Supply Chain and broader team as the department scales.
- Build an organizational structure capable of supporting global growth — including procurement, planning, logistics, and supplier quality.
- Promote a culture of accountability, operational excellence, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Finance, Operations, Quality, and Customer Support.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field required.
- MBA or Master’s degree strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience, including managing teams and budgets.
- Background in hardware, electronics manufacturing, IoT devices, or complex multi-component manufacturing.
- Deep experience with contract manufacturing (domestic and international).
- Proven success designing and scaling end-to-end supply chain systems for high-growth companies.
- Strong negotiating skills and experience with global sourcing, supplier management, and long-cycle procurement.
- Demonstrated success with Lean, Six Sigma, or formal continuous improvement frameworks.
- Experience implementing or optimizing ERP/MRP systems. Odoo experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication and executive stakeholder management capabilities.
