Job Description: For Airbus Public Safety and Security (PSS) in Canada, we are looking for a Director Sales & Programs and Services Delivery (m/f/d) for the department “Sales & Progr. Deliv. WENA” at the Ottawa location. Tasks & Responsibilities: Running the day-to-day activities for PSS in Canada under the supervision of his/her manager and the local Managing Director. The jobholder is responsible of:

  • Lead Airbus PSS implementation in Canada
    • Manage budget, resource and investment planning and monitoring
    • Positioning the Airbus PSS solutions as a market leader in its segments and with key stakeholders
    • Developing opportunities and winning new business, ensuring additional order intake and business growth without compromising long-term value for short term results
    • Manage risks and opportunities
    • Report to the Head of Europe Sales & Program Delivery, this includes the yearly target setting and performance evaluation
    • Interface and work with functional teams: Bid, Sales and Project Delivery in PSS France
    • Interface to and management of local partners and subcontractors
    • Interface and reports to the local entity MD for Airbus wide activities coordination and support
    • If applicable ensures the adequate set-up and operational management of local services
    • Develop experiences in divisional decision processes and develop a sound network at other company/division
The jobholder is in charge of the sales for PSS in Canada. This includes the following roles & responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of a sales strategy in line with the goals of PSS
    • Establishment / development and maintenance of a stable, long-term customer network and long-term customer loyalty
    • Establishment of partnerships, including industrial cooperation
    • Preparation of operational planning for order intake and contribution to the strategic planning
    • Performance and control of sales tasks with the goal of realizing the planned order intake in line with the economic targets of PSS
    • Apply PSS processes related to business development and sales activities
    • Interface and work with the PSS Bid team that is in charge to prepare and realize technical and commercial offers to customers and with the other central functions supporting bid activities (Legal, Finance, Ethics & Compliance, Procurement, Portfolio Management and Operations)
    • Preparing, conducting and controlling of contract negotiations, as well as responsibility of the result, in accordance with economic, legal and operational principles
    • Ensuring regular internal and external communications and support of the Marketing and Communications departments
The jobholder is also in charge of the local Projects and Services activities. This includes the following roles and responsibilities:Project Delivery

  • Deliver projects on Quality, on Time and on Cost (CQOTOC) with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and making sure that deliveries are meeting the contractual objectives & Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
    • Maintain budgets and optimize expenses; ensure Project profitability, follow-up with cost and invoicing management and change request process in place to increase the business
    • Definition of the Project team organization according to PSS process and based on the EAC0
    • Local team management (individual objectives definition and assessment) and sub-contractor management
    • Work according to Airbus Defence & Space and Airbus PSS Business Management System (BMS)
    • Regular reporting and update of the EAC of the Projects
(B) Care Delivery

  • Deliver local Services according to the contractual Care Service Level Agreements, including technical, performance, quality, financial and contractual aspects with a specific focus on customer satisfaction
    • Maintain budgets and optimize expenses; ensure Care Service Delivery profitability, follow-up with cost and invoicing management and change request process in place to increase the business
    • Definition of the Care team organization according to PSS process and based on the EAC0
    • Local team management (individual objectives definition and assessment) and sub-contractor management
    • Work according to Airbus Defence & Space and Airbus PSS Business Management System (BMS)
    • Regular reporting and update of the EAC of the Services
Qualification & Skills: Professional Skills:

  • Market knowledge:
    • Knowledge of business and mission critical communications and applications market (& the competition) and Airbus’s products / solutions/ service portfolio characteristics.
  • Strategy:
  • Ability to build function strategy considering market evolution, customer demand, function vision and capabilities in the context of Airbus PSS mis
  • Mission & vision. Ability to contribute to the definition of the products or service that will best serve the company’s interest, taking into account the market situation, the technological differentiating factors and the business case aspects (SWOT).
  • Project and Service Delivery:
  • Experience in large projects and services delivery.
  • Sales:
  • Experience in sales and customers’ relationship management.
  • Export Control:
  • Ability to support Airbus export control compliance framework.
  • Finance:
  • Knowledge of accounting principles driven by local statutory obligations/ Ability to communicate specific financial matters of financial reports and ability to answer requests from auditors in strong collaboration with the Company Head of Finance.
  • Health & Safety:
  • Understanding of the requirement to have an H&S and an Environmental Management System certified by external bodies such as ISO, EMAS or OHSAS / Knowledge of the management system structure / Knowledge of risk mitigation techniques.
  • Human Resources:
  • Ability to direct and control the resources of the company - overseeing hiring processes and implementing policies to effectively recruit, train and retain employees to ensure that the company functions as efficiently as possible.
  • Sustainability:
  • Ability to be a driving force in raising awareness on Sustainability and Environment issues.

  • Ability to supervise, coordinate, perform and support the internal control system implementation, operation, maintenance and improvement.
