This position is responsible for scheduling drivers, assigning vehicles overseeing daily activities of drivers, liaising with the detailing department, maintaining operating procedures and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Identifies and schedules drivers (monthly, weekly, daily)
- Identifies vehicle availability and assigns vehicles to work types
- Participated in the On-Call Emergency Line Rotation
- Assists drivers with routing directions and logistics
- Responds to emergency calls, facilitates emergency response network, and assigns rescue buses and drivers
- Communicates route assignments, last minute changes, any other event that will disrupt service or routing
- Communicate mechanical issues to our onsite motor coach service centre
- Liaises with onsite detailing department to ensure vehicles are clean and ready
- Maintains high compliance to dispatch standard operating procedures
- Handles customer concerns and requests for information in an expeditious and professional manner.
- Escalates unresolved issues to management as appropriate.
Assets:
- Extensive geographical knowledge of the Maritimes (as well as Newfoundland, Ontario, Quebec and NE USA also an asset)
- Previous dispatch or logistics experience
- Previous experience with computerized scheduling systems an asset
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- High level of computer proficiency (in word, excel);
- Exceptional organizational skills (detail oriented)
- Great communication skills - interpersonal and phone
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment under pressure
- Strong problem solver by trait
- Natural multi-tasker (great at prioritizing tasks)
