Position Description

Support geotechnical and environmental drilling projects by assisting the drilling crew with field operations, equipment setup, maintenance, and sample collection. Work alongside experienced drillers in a hands-on environment while developing practical skills and contributing to a wide-array of projects.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist the Driller in mobilizing, setting up, operating, and demobilizing drilling equipment at project sites.
  • Support geotechnical and environmental drilling activities, including soil and rock sampling, groundwater monitoring well installation, and related field investigations.
  • Handle drill rods, casing, augers, tooling, and other equipment while maintaining a safe and organized work area.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, inspections, and minor repairs to ensure equipment remains in good working condition.
  • Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and supplies to and from project sites.
  • Assist with field documentation and sample handling.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and enjoys working outdoors. Previous experience in drilling, construction, heavy equipment, labour, or related field work is considered an asset but is not required. Training will be provided. A valid Class G driver’s license is required, with a DZ license considered an asset. Candidates should be mechanically inclined and possess the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting heavy equipment, working on uneven terrain, and operating in a variety of weather conditions.

This position is classified as seasonal. Rate of pay will be commensurate with related experience and qualifications.
