Currently seeking an Industrial AutoCAD Drafting Technician and Project Documentation Lead.

The Role
Our client is a Canadian company with over 50 years of experience, specializing in monitoring systems, providing high-quality products, engineering, and customer support, along with services such as maintenance, training, and consulting. Currently seeking an Industrial AutoCAD Drafting Technician and Project Documentation Lead.
Responsibilities
- Drafting electrical systems for vessel propulsion control, instrumentation, and machinery alarm systems.
- Creating equipment and connection plate layout drawings.
- Developing and maintaining the bill of materials.
- Drafting mechanical parts to support design and manufacturing.
- Updating pneumatic/hydraulic systems drawings for existing vessel systems.
- Ensuring technical document control and adherence to quality standards.
- Low and high voltage, hydraulics and pneumatic components, navigation systems, panel wiring, and motor controls.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2023 and Office 365 (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
- Strong computer and file management skills.
- At least 5 years of experience in technical drawing, specifically in controls/automation.
- Electrical knowledge, with the ability to read circuit diagrams.
- Industrial experience in a production setting.
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with GibbsCam and SolidWorks is an asset.
- Manual drafting skills are a bonus.
- $25 to $35 an hour depending on experience.
