Motion Recruitment

Date: 9 hours ago
City: Toronto, ON
Contract type: Full time
We are building something category-defining—and we’re looking for an Engineering Manager who can lead with vision, urgency, and taste. You’ll guide a team of up to 10 high-performing engineers to ship elegant, scalable product experiences while driving the technical direction that supports our rapid growth. This is NOT a hands-on coding role, but it’s deeply technical: you’ll need a strong engineering background, startup grit, and the kind of leadership that inspires a team to raise the bar. Startup experience is critical—you’ve led engineers before in fast-moving, resource-constrained environments and know how to navigate ambiguity with clarity and momentum. Whether at a startup, a SaaS scale-up, or both, you understand how to balance speed with thoughtful architecture. You’re not afraid to challenge ideas, roll up your sleeves to unblock teams, or steer tough conversations. Ruby experience is a bonus, but we’re tech-agnostic and care more about your ability to lead, motivate, and think in systems. If you're the kind of leader who thrives in ambiguity, builds order from chaos, and loves the thrill of shaping a company’s future, then we are ready for you.?? **This is a hybrid role – 1-2 days a week in Toronto ideally** Required Skills & Experience
