RVA is seeking an Engineering Technologist, Transportation to join our Niagara team to work on a variety of challenging projects.
The individual will have the opportunity to work on transportation infrastructure projects of varying scope and size which support and enhance community mobility. You will be part of a multidisciplinary group delivering multimodal projects involving roadways and highways, bridges, traffic engineering, and transportation planning.

The salary range for this position is: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00
Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary group delivering multimodal projects involving roadways and highways, bridges, traffic engineering, and transportation planning.
Duties
- Providing engineering and technical expertise on multi-disciplinary projects
- Participating in studies, assessments, modeling, preliminary and detailed design for municipal road reconstructions, water/sewer systems, site grading, and stormwater management
- Utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D to prepare surfaces from topo surveys, existing and proposed pipe networks, horizontal and vertical alignments, assemblies, proposed corridors and surfaces, and drawing sheets
- Contributing to reports, drawings, and other engineering documents
- Communicating with clients, consultants, and contractors under supervision
- Supporting proposals preparation
- Collaborating with project teams to meet deadlines and budgets
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including specifications, quantities, and construction estimates.
- Mentoring junior engineers and technologists as needed
- Providing site inspection services on construction projects on an as-needed basis
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
- 0-7 years of experience in municipal/transportation design engineering, with some consulting experience would be an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of roadway geometric design principles, grading, and drainage.
- Familiarity with municipal and provincial transportation design standards
- Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD Civil3D.
- Experience with Sketchup and GIS valued.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
