Requirements

We are searching for a candidate with:

  • 2+ years of related work experience.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of machinery and equipment.
  • Must be capable of being certified as forklift driver/propane handling/pallet cart operation.
  • Attention to detail to identify product defects in quality.
  • Mechanical aptitude to operate and maintain machinery effectively.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Shift flexible to work any shift as required, days, afternoons, nights.
  • Basic knowledge of 5s, machine check sheets, measuring instruments such as measuring tapes and calipers.
  • Must be able to read and write English, do basic mathematical calculations, have high level of safety awareness, work independently, and complete production recording documents accurately.
  • This position requires the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship or immigration restrictions.
  • Any other responsibilities deemed necessary by leadership team.

Duties And Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

  • Packaging extruded PVC components at the end of extrusion line.
  • Help in stringing extrusion machine in prep for operation with specific feeding tools or personal protective equipment as required.
  • Pre-Forming cartons and filling with product, seal, using a stapler, bander or similar tools.
  • Verifying product and carton labels are correct, applied properly and in correct location.
  • Moving finished carton from packing table to storage or shipping rack, using established pushing/lifting techniques and equipment.
  • Transporting the rack full of finished goods from the machine to a pre-arranged staging area using a riding pallet jack.
  • Measuring the length of the product required and observing product quality.
  • Notifying management of any production or quality problems.
  • Lubricating the machine and/or refill lubrication device.
  • Properly cutting up and disposing of scrap.
  • Maintaining a safe working area and cleaning of machine work center.
  • Filling out all the required paperwork and/or entering all time and production information into the computer (Data Cards) in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Shift: 3:00 PM - 11 PM & 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
