Mission / Summary

The Press/Finishing Feeder/Catcher tends various printing and finishing machines that transforms paperboard into various consumer packaging products. They understand and align business operations as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Feeds cartons into gluers, formers and windower
  • Picks up cartons from delivery table and stacks it on skid or into cases according to packing specs
  • Check cartons for quality
  • Uses taper
  • Operate carton packer
  • Operate strapper and wrapper on WIP and finished product
  • Operates walkie with valid license
  • Assists in make readies
  • Labels product
  • Maintains standards for line clearance, quality checks, safety champion and production
  • Does there job according to SOP’s
  • Maintain housekeeping and fill out cleaning schedules
  • Ensures that Health & Safety and SQF standards are maintained
  • Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork
  • Other duties as assigned.

Background / Experience / Skills

  • Folding carton experience strongly preferred
  • Basic computer skills, data entry
  • Visual Color Discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors

Education / Knowledge

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Schedule Demands

  • General schedules are an 8hr 3 shift operation and/or 12-hour continental shifts with rotating weekends off, however, employees must be willing to work alternate schedules or overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

Physical Demands

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods.
  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
  • Occasional walking, bending and turning
  • Frequently reaching and twisting
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Work in areas of fluctuating temperature
