Overview

WHO YOU ARE AT PANASONIC CANADA:

Panasonic Canada Inc. is currently looking to hire for the position of Field Service Technician – Windsor.

Provides onsite service and preventative maintenance to point of sale products, security and wireless systems for assigned territories. Keeps up to date on product knowledge, specifications, and operation. Provides constructive feedback to management regarding product performance and service issues. Completes required sections of work orders, check lists, and other documentation as required. Maintains a safe work environment through proper utilization of tools and equipment.

This is a contract role for 12 months.

This is a remote position with a requirement to travel across Windsor and surrounding areas. For training purposes, occasional in-office attendance at the Niagara-on-the-Lake and Mississauga locations may be required.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Travel to customer sites to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical equipment and software issues as required.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of routine, non-routine, and complex technical problems, collaborating with team members when necessary.
  • Test equipment modifications, software updates, and system changes both remotely and on-site to ensure proper functionality.
  • Report equipment performance, quality concerns, and programming issues to management and relevant support teams.
  • Complete work orders, checklists, service documentation, and maintain accurate records of progress, status updates, and issue resolutions.
  • Deliver customer training on the basic operation, maintenance, and safe use of equipment, ensuring training meets customer requirements.
  • Continuously improve training content, materials, and delivery methods while providing feedback on equipment performance and customer needs.
  • Stay current with product technologies and service practices through technical manuals, online research, and participation in required training programs.
  • Maintain service and preventive maintenance equipment in good working order, ensuring safe storage, proper usage, and accurate equipment logs.
  • Manage equipment lifecycle activities, including requesting replacement tools, coordinating the disposal of defective or worn equipment, and completing required documentation.

Qualifications

MUST-HAVES:

  • College diploma/degree in a technical field with 1-2 years of related technical service, field service, or customer support experience.
  • A+ and Network+ certifications preferred, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook); Salesforce experience is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, test, and resolve technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts, product functions, and operational procedures to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven customer service skills with the ability to manage customer concerns professionally, balance customer satisfaction with equitable solutions, and ensure training needs are met.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with customers and team members, gather information through investigative questioning, collaborate on problem-solving, and communicate sensitive or unfavorable information tactfully when required.

What You’ll Earn

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.8 - $25.4 CAD.

This position is eligible for a bi-weekly car allowance of $254.

Actual compensation offered to the selected incumbent will vary depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills and experience related to the role.
