Finance Manager - #193297

MatchBox is currently seeking a Finance Manager on behalf of a leading real estate development and construction group based in Langley, BC. This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing team with a diverse portfolio of industrial and commercial development projects across BC and Alberta. With over a million square feet of boutique industrial properties in the pipeline and an active construction arm delivering high-impact projects, this is a high-visibility, hands-on finance leadership role.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Manager will lead all accounting and financial reporting activities for the development portfolio, while also supporting the construction division. This includes overseeing project budgets, cash flow, cost tracking, and JV/LP/GP financial structures. Ideal for a CPA with 3+ years of experience in development or construction finance—or a public practice accountant ready to move in-house.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, project reports, and construction draw packages
• Manage project budgets, tracking hard/soft costs and analyzing variances
• Create and maintain detailed cash flow forecasts across multiple projects
• Support the transition of assets from development to income-producing properties
• Liaise with external partners (banks, investors, accountants, and legal counsel)
• Use QuickBooks, Sage 300, and Excel to manage real-time project accounting
• Help improve internal controls and reporting structures

What We’re Looking For

• CPA designation required
• 3+ years in accounting or finance, ideally with real estate development or construction exposure
• Familiarity with JV, LP, and GP structures in a real estate context
• Experience with project accounting systems (QuickBooks, Sage, etc.)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• A proactive, collaborative mindset—comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
