Horizon Health Network in beautiful New Brunswick is looking for an OR Operations Manager to join our team!
Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a committed, organized, motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as an OR Operations Manager. The OR Operations Manager is responsible for the effective allocation and optimization of operating room resources, with a primary focus on maximizing utilization, improving access, and ensuring efficient surgical flow. This role oversees OR scheduling and performance, using data-driven insights and collaboration with clinical and administrative teams to enhance capacity and support high-quality patient care.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in surgical services, healthcare operations, or OR scheduling preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with electronic scheduling systems (e.g., OR management software) is an asset.
- Experience with bargaining units (CUPE) an asset
Demonstrated proficiency verified by testing in:
- Data Entry 4000 KSPH
- Typing 35 WPM (General)
- Medical Terminology Spelling 75%
- Medical Terminology Vocabulary 75%
- Outlook 50%
- Word 50%
- Excel 75%
Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.
What you will do
- Provide leadership and operational management to OR Booking staff to ensure accurate, consistent, and efficient case scheduling
- Responsible for the allocation and optimal utilization of OR block time
- Monitor and analyze utilization metrics; identify and implement improvements to increase capacity and reduce delays
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical teams, and administrative partners to standardize processes and resolve scheduling issues
- Work collaboratively across the health authority to develop, align, and implement standardized OR booking and scheduling practices
- Work with Surgical Access Manger to ensure equal access & compliance of Department of Health Surgical Access Registry Polices & Procures
- Act as liaison with physician offices and key stakeholders
- Serve as key user for the electronic OR scheduling system, including support, optimization, and training.
