The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Engineering Student to join our Ground Engineering and Materials Team based in Prince George, BC. You will join our highly successful team, using your skills to assist in the execution of various high-profile and critical projects throughout BC and Yukon.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Perform geotechnical investigations for buildings, highways, bridges, retaining walls, slope stability, and municipal infrastructure;
  • Coordinate and carry out field review of construction works and material testing of geotechnical materials;
  • Perform soil index testing and concrete testing in our CCIL certified laboratory;
  • Assist senior team in preparing proposals and technical reports;
  • Conduct geotechnical engineering analysis.


What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Completing an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or a graduate degree in Geo-Engineering discipline such as Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Engineering;
  • Preference for experience in Geo-engineering field in Canada (not essential);
  • Prior experience in consulting geotechnical engineering is considered an asset.

  • Valid BC Driver’s License;
  • Strong technical, oral and written communication skills;
  • Experience working in remote worksites including forestry, mining, or other industrial applications,;
  • Exceptional analytical and project management skills; and,
  • Ability to work well with senior direction, under pressure, meet deadlines and cooperate with a team in various environment.
