Job Summary

As a Handwork Technician in our Windsor Mold Tooling facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that parts meet quality standards through manual or precision work. This involves inspecting, adjusting, assembling, and fine-tuning parts or subassemblies by hand to ensure they fit properly and function correctly. This can include tasks such as polishing, fitting, and aligning components, as well as performing final inspections to check for defects.

As a Handwork Technician you will show strong technical and analytical skills, being results driven, pro-active, and organized.

Job Responsibilities

  • Preparation of components for handwork which includes cleaning, masking, and/or scribing the parting-line surface.
  • Handwork and polishing of required components including core, cavity, and mechanisms.
  • Completing work to specified polishing level using required pneumatic, electrical, and manual hand tools. Polish may vary from 100 stone all the way to an A1 finish.
  • Review defects on molded parts to understand the correction and perform work accordingly.
  • Support local tryouts onsite with handwork requirements in the mold machine.
  • Inspect work performed to ensure quality standards are matched and even exceeded.
  • Identify possible defects and report to supervisor.
  • Provide continuous improvement suggestions regarding processing and product.
  • Housekeeping in the work area. Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Time keeping by charging time to a project using our online system.
