Job Type Full Time, Permanent

Schedule 8+ Hours/day, Day Shift, 5 x 2 Monday -Friday, Schedule as per Operational Requirements, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week, On-Call (Evenings & Weekends)

Location Edmonton, AB (9175 - 14 Street NW), no camp, LOA, or rotation available - must live in Edmonton/area

Requirements

  • Personal Reliable Vehicle
  • CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support


Pre-employment

  • Drug and alcohol testing swab-based test
  • Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation


Health & Safety Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Deliver company safety orientation and conduct pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • Organize and register all company safety training.
  • Organize and process FLHA’s, BBO cards, inspections, incident reports.
  • Conduct Respirator Fit Testing.
  • Conduct required training (WHIMIS, Flagger etc.).
  • Compile safety and TRIF statistics.
  • Record meeting minutes and prepare presentations.
  • Perform all administrative duties for the safety department (data entry, filing, Safety manual updates).
  • Assists with creation of site-specific safety plans.
  • Assist in developing and leading morning PSI and weekly safety meetings
  • Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations.
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Health & Safety Coordinator Qualifications

  • Health and Safety Administration designation or equivalent training and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Health and Safety Administrator, within the construction industry an asset.
  • Knowledge of pre-qualification systems (ISNet, Complyworks, etc.).
  • Exceptional computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with both Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business.
  • High degree of quality in regards to; attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to speak in front of groups.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and learning.
  • WHMIS Train the Trainer Certification.
  • Flagger Train the Trainer Certification.
