Role Summary: 

As the People & Performance Manager at Macdonald's Home Health Care, you'll play a key role in supporting our amazing team. Your responsibilities will cover everything from welcoming new members to guiding them through their journey with us, to ensuring everyone feels valued and supported every step of the way. You'll work closely with our leadership team to make sure our HR practices are in line with our company's vision and goals, and you'll help us create an environment where everyone can thrive. Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, Psychology or related field; Master's degree preferred. 
  • 5+ years of experience working in human resource management.  
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices. 
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically. 
  • Previous experience of using an HRIS system or CRM system  
  • Previous experience working with confidential information. 
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., CPHR) preferred. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. 
  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process, including creating job descriptions, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, making hiring decisions and managing the termination process when necessary. 
  • Manage employee relations, including resolving conflicts, addressing grievances, and fostering a positive workplace culture. 
  • Lead performance management efforts, including setting performance standards, conducting evaluations, and implementing improvement plans. 
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry standards. 
  • Design and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs. (in conjunction with Finance) 
  • Identify training needs, develop training programs, and facilitate learning opportunities for employees. 
  • Utilize HRIS software to maintain accurate employee records, generate reports (employee turnover, sickness, and time off), and streamline HR processes.  
  • Lead organizational change initiatives and manage transitions effectively. 
  • Communicate HR policies, procedures, and initiatives effectively to employees and management. 
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace. 
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the HR (People & Performance) team. 
  • Management of HR departmental budget ie. Hiring, training/development, wages, benefits, employee events and perks.
