RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator Dr. Lucy Gilbert, the incumbent is responsible for assisting the Women’s Health Research Unit /Gynecology Oncology Division and the research team and for supporting the successful conduct of clinical research studies.

General Duties

  • Act as a resource person to assist in the care of the research patient requiring complex care,
  • Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments to oncology research patients,
  • Infuse blood products when necessary,
  • Evaluate the health status of oncology research patients,
  • Determine if research patient can continue their treatments,
  • Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure proper care and oversight to the research patient and their families in clinical research trials,
  • Provide appropriate resources to patients,
  • Ensure proper research documentation,
  • Review and documents protocol trainings.

Education / Experience

Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)

Work Experience: 2 years

Professional Membership: Yes: OIIQ

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical/surgical, ICU or Emergency Room,
  • Experience in Oncology (hematology and/or solid tumors) administration of cancer treatments is preferred,
  • Clinical research experience is preferred,
  • Experience in multicenter project management is an asset,
  • Bilingual: English and French, spoken and written,
  • Able to work under minimal supervision,
  • Self-directed, flexible, organized with a good sense of work ethics,
  • Ability to work and communicate with a dynamic team.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)

Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience. $43,316.00 - $80,425.80.

Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm

Work Site: GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie
