Our team is hiring an Instrumentation Maintenance Technician at the Suncor Fort Hills Primary Extraction Oil Sands Plant. In this role, you would be to perform maintenance in a safe and reliable manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Journeyman Instrumentation Certification
  • High School Diploma
  • A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record.
  • Experience working with nuclear density transmitters, conveyor weighing systems, various flow transmitters and Sentry Autosamplers preferred. Experience troubleshooting Hydraulic Power Units and gas detection systems also preferred
  • Experience working around oils sands crushing, conveying, slurry preparation, pumping, extraction, flotation separation and thickener systems preferred
  • Experience working with Honeywell DCs systems and Allen Bradley PLC systems an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Install, calibrate, and maintain various types of instrumentation, including sensors, transmitters, and control systems
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure system reliability and compliance with Suncor standards
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot instrumentation issues, utilizing your analytical skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of instrumentation systems into existing processes
  • Document all maintenance activities, including calibration records and system modifications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Maintain equipment histories as required in SAP
  • Use the different software to establish communication with the instruments
  • Use and update instrumentation plans such as loop drawing and P&ID

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work at our Fort Hills location in the Primary Extraction Plant
  • The shift schedule is 7 days on /7 days off rotation.
  • This position is safety sensitive
