WSP’s RPM team is one of the most established and exciting teams in Canada. The team consists of environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals. We have been providing contaminated site program management services to the worlds most technically focused companies for over 15 years. We consistently have backlog of 9 to 12 months and provide growth opportunities for our high performing team members. We specialize in health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment and remediation. Our team takes on the biggest Canadian projects from coast to coast to coast. The projects range in type, size and complexity, and the successful candidate will be able to utilize the team strengths to manage a large amount of field work efficiently and effectively.

Compensation:
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $69,700 – $92,300
MB & ON: $63,600 – $87,500
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $62,900 – $83,600

Your Impact

- Maintain a work-life balance, logging in remotely or attending the office in a hybrid work solution of 3 days a week in the office.
- Coordinate and plan new projects from problem definition to investigation plans, and real-time assessment and review of the data.
- Prepare specific work instructions, health and safety plans and liaising with subcontractors, articulating the plan and successful execution to the entire project team.
- Directly interact with the project manager and technical experts (project directors) to understand and then convey to the rest of team the project objectives, bringing your ideas and solutions to meet client requirements and expectations.
- Develop your career by having several different mentors to plan, adjust and grow your career at WSP. Be a mentor to others within WSP, sharing your experiences and knowledge.
- Guided by our Zero Harm policy and rigorous Health, Safety and Environment standards, with your knowledge and experience, reviewing and enhancing project health and safety plans.
- Participate and be a member of a 10-20 person client-specific delivery team, while at the same time leveraging the experience and expertise of the entire RPM group.
- Have a really complex technical issue? Engage with a Practice Area Network (PAN) who may have experienced the same issue in Australia, Malaysia, or even exotic locations like Saskatoon.
- Apply your love for the outdoors and complete fieldwork assignments centered around the Alberta foothills and Northeast BC, and at locations within Western/Northern Canada (up to 30%)
- Lead and work on some of the most interesting and technically challenging environmental projects in Western and Northern Canada
- Currently takes on responsibilities in the planning and execution of projects including plan, execution and reporting
- Stops and takes time out of your busy day to help coworkers, especially new team members, understand assignments and help mentor them in their career path
- You help field teams understand project technical objectives, empowering them to make and communicate field level decisions in support of those objectives
- A passion for helping field staff solve problems they encounter in the field, and demonstrate for them the field tips and tricks you’ve picked up over your career
- You are the default person for field staff to reach to when they encounter a problem or issue, and even have former colleagues still reach out to you for support
- Have excellent communication skills and somehow find yourself the default person coordinating activities with your friends and family
- Miss going to the field on a regular basis and getting to see what’s really going on in the ground
- Excellent report writing skills, always applying feedback and recommendations from the last report review to the next one.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences.
- Has or able to obtain your professional engineering or professional science designation.
- 6 to 10 years experience in the environmental industry.
- Relevant health and safety training related to the oil and gas industry.
