IT Support Technician – Level 1

Job Summary

Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Support Technician acts as the first point of contact for users with technical needs. The incumbent provides effective, courteous and solution-oriented support for computer equipment, software and access. This role is critical to the day-to-day functioning of internal operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide first level technical support to users, both in person and remotely;
• Contribute to the opening and operational set-up of a second G Mining group office;
• Diagnose and resolve workstation, printer, display and other peripheral incidents;
• Install, configure and maintain IT equipment;
• Support users in the use of Microsoft software (Windows 11, Office 365, Teams, etc.);
• Create and manage user accounts in the different systems;
• Document actions and maintain equipment and incident logs;
• Assist with onboarding and IT integration of new employees;
• Work with the IT team to continuously improve internal tools and processes;
• Provide ad hoc support for project deployment at mine sites and in our international offices.
  
  

Requirements

• DEC or AEC in IT;
• Two (2) years relevant technical support experience;
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10, 11, Office 365 and common computer hardware;
• Knowledge of Windows Server, engineering and document management software is an asset;
• Hold a valid Passport and be available for occasional site visits abroad;
• Ability to communicate in both English and French, knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese is an asset.

Additional Information

• The position will be based at the G Mining Services office in Brossard, in the Solar Uniquartier.
• A minimum of 4 days per week is expected in the office
• Possibility to occasionally travel based on candidate availability.
