Position Description
Reporting to the Director of Technical Operations, the IT Systems Administrator is a key member of our customer service and support organization. The successful candidate will have solid technical knowledge but differentiate themself based on customer orientation and technical expertise. This role requires an organized, solution-oriented professional that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Provides impeccable, pro-active customer service to end users at all levels of the organization, including supporting the Company’s key leadership in person and remotely when required.
- Work with fellow IT /Engineering department team members to support and maintain on-premise, remote and cloud based systems and networks.
- Completes hardware and software requests using the Company’s service management system, from diagnosing issues and troubleshooting, through to delivering end user focused solutions.
- Assists in the evaluation and deployment of vendor patches, releases and new products.
- Maintains, updates, and enforces IT related policies and procedures and distributes to end users, as required.
- Ensures system hardware, software, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards.
- Oversees stock/inventory levels and manages deployment and end-user support for laptops, desktops and/or mobile devices, as well as line of business applications and software.
- Leads cloud and on-premise server and network monitoring/maintenance as required.
- Manages the escalation of IT issues in a timely end user focused manner to the appropriate teams.
- Provides leadership, coaching and on-site supervision to the IT team to drive continuous pro-active service to end users.
- Leads, or assists/supports specific project teams with implementation, training, documentation, and other project related tasks, as required.
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software,
- Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization.
- Participate in the design, development, and delivery of hardware and software to staff.
- Prioritize, schedule, and administer all instances where enhancements and defect resolution are required.
- Participate in our 24/7/365 on-call support rotation.
- Post-Secondary Degree in an IT related field as well as relevant certifications.
- Minimum 7+ years of Information Technology experience.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a desire to provide pro-active end user focused support.
- Strong experience deploying and troubleshooting a variety of end user devices including Windows, mac, iOS and Android.
- Strong experience configuring, monitoring and supporting MS Azure (virtual machines and native Azure applications) and networks as well as Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Business connect and Radio automation software an asset.
- Supporting a corporation with at least 30 servers and 300 endpoints in a multi-site environment.
- Ability to manage and maintain private and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism.
- Proven ability to drive behavior & cultural change across the teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Possession of a class 5 driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills.
